Assembler - A - FLUID POWER GROUP
Elwood Fluid Power Group designs and manufactures high pressure hydraulic valves and systems for water, soluble oil and other low viscosity applications. Because of our continued growth we are looking for an Assembler to join our team and make a significant contribution to our future success

Primary Purpose of the Position:
Perform diversified assembly and erection operations to assemble highly intricate and/or large and expensive precision apparatus, machines and equipment having critical tolerances and strict inspection requirements.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Plan assembling and erecting procedures.
Do skilled fitting, aligning, adjusting and secondary machining.
Check and test sub-assemblies and units.
Work from complicated assembly drawings and specifications.
Use a wide variety of precision measuring instruments and gauging devices.
Proceed with minimum supervision.
Completed assemblies are subject to inspection and test.
Requires a high degree of skill and assembling technique, plus considerable experience and knowledge of design and mechanical principles.
Maintain a safe, organized and clean workplace.
Assign, instruct and check work of assemblers of lower classification and helpers.

Qualifications:
The person selected should have a strong mechanical aptitude, knowledge of hydraulic components and principles and basic electrical principles. They should be willing to travel occasionally (<20%). This person should have effective written and verbal communication skills, be reliable and looking for a long term position.

Requirements:
• 3 - 5 year's precision assembly experience.
• Possess a 2 year technical degree or equivalent work experience.
